Active Field Fundraisng Procesess / Tutorial:

Field Fundraising Goals:
- Find a great place with lots of people we can connect to.
- Downtown, Events, Farmers Markets etc...
- Make sure all of the materials are in order and ready to be presented to the public.
- To outreach and educate the public about community projects, movements, and ideas.
- To activly engage the public in decision making though the Community Elections. To VOTE!
- To Ask the public for donations to support the projects and ideas they think are the best.
- To take general input and recomendation from the public on behalf of the community.
Step 1: Finding a good location
- Look for corners, main through ways, and other great locations that aren't in the way.
Step 2: Documents & Tools Check Over
- Binder
- Elections Stickers
- Brochures (just a few)
- Sign UP sheet
- Donation Forms
- Donation Receipts
- Donation Envelopes
- Donor After Survey
- Donor After Survey
- Legal Doccumentation
- AoI
- Bi-Laws
- Tax Determination Letter
- Processes & Bullet Point Cheet Sheets etc…
- General Feedback Survey
- Paper version of voting (check marks)
- Smart phones / Tablets Set Up
- Make sure hot spot and or web link works
- Tab that is already on www.CommunityElections.com
- Also IdeaFun.org , URL Votes, Flag Vote, Card Vote
- Digital Forms (not necessary)
- Donation Log
- Email donation Recipt
- Misalanious

- Flag(s) / Sign

Step 3: Raise the Flag
- Get out the Flag/ Sign, the tape, and the pole
- Tape the Flag and Sign to the Pole
- Ready to go :)
Step 4: Hand Out Cards to People
- Simply hand out the Community Elections Stickers to people as they walk by, and ask them if they have a minute to Vote.
- If they just take the card that is fine.
Step 5: Prioritization Engagement
- If someone stops to talk to you after asking them to Vote, assume you have 2 minutes before they want to go.
- Give them Idea Options:
- Focus right away on getting them activly engadged in prioritizing the ideas and projects within the Community Elections
- Pull up http://CommunityElections.com website or the paper version and just give the names and a simple phrase description of the ideas within the Current Community Elections.
- If they don't look interested, Quickly go to more ideas within the main URL Voting Pad. Just go down the list.
- Record their Vote:
- Double check to make sure that is the idea they want to vote for before marking it down.
- If you are using a smart phone or tablet, ask them to click the vote link.
- Ask them to Back Up their Support with a Donation
- If they don't want to that is OK
- If they are on the fence, explain that our society functions with money and we need money to make these important community projects successfull
- If they do want to donate see bellow to start the donation Options, but to start, ask them if they want to do
- Card / Paypal / square
- Cash
- Check
- In-Kind Donation
- Then Repeat - for more ideas
- Ask them if they havea few more minutes if they seem like they may be ready to go.
- Make sure they know they can vote as many times as they'd like!
- Go through more ideas and projects
- IdeaInformer Prioritization and other links on www.IdeaFun.org as needed.
- Other Decision Making Options
- Many of the ideas and projects have sub-ideas or proposals that peopel can vote on.
- Unity Flag Prioritization
- For example if someone expresses interest in our http://UnityFlag.net (which happens a lot), make sure that they register their support as a vote, if they want to, and let them know that they can help create and prioritize the images of the Unity Flag.
- Go to the Unity Flag Prioritization vote page directly from www.UnityFlag.net
- Also make sure they know that if they donate to the Unity Flag project, they will get a Unity Flag mailed to them, and they should make sure to give us their address.

Step 6: Donations:
- Ask if they would like to donate by Cash, Check, Card, (or in-kind donation if they don't have any money on them)
- If they want to pay by card, just use the Pay Pal Here App and card reader, by entering the amount that they say they want to donate.
- Easiest to see this in action than trying to describe it here.
- Just log-in, pug reader in, enter amount, slide their card, and let them sign.
- Cash and check donations are easy, just put the funds in an envelope
- Make sure you confirm that this is a standard donation and is not Tax-Deductable Unless they specifically request a Tax Deductable Donation
- Make sure to note the program or idea they are donating to on the envelope / donation.
- If they want a recipt, fill out the donation recipt.
- If they have special requests about the money, fill out a donation card.
Step 7: Other Forms of Engagement:
- They can Score/Pladge funds and volunteer time
- If they want to get involved or get updates, have them put their information on the Sign Up sheet.
