Definitions of the different categories used:

Community Organizations don’t directly use or discuss money and makes all of its decisions by consensus.  These organizations are dependent on volunteer hours and in-kind donations from individuals and other organizations.

Governance Organizations don’t directly use or discuss money and make all their decisions through majority vote.  These organizations focus mainly on governing documents.

By-Donation Organizations are non-profits that make monetary decisions and only accept voluntary donations.  These organizations do not charge a minimum amount for any goods and services.  No one is ever turned away do to lack of funds.

Government Sponsored Organizations are supported directly or indirectly from public government taxes. They make monetary decisions and usually do not need to do fundraising to stay afloat.

Community Sale Organizations are non-profits that charge a minimum price for their goods and/or services. (The WCTC is not by-donation simply because its doors are only open to on-going members, non-members have extra charges, and the minimum ongoing membership is $0.01.  The WCTC is also going to sponsor auctions and drawing which will require people to give money if they want to participate.  Eventually once financial stability is established, the WCTC should be-able to allow anyone to use the center with no one turned away for lack of funds.)

Entrepreneurial Organization are for profit organizations that charge for their services and/or goods.

In no way are these categories all of the possible categories to explain the types of organizations that do or will be organizing out of the center.  These are also not in any way a final say on how we should categorize organizations.  It is a start though and anyone can input ideas.
