The Matrix:
SLM creates a simple, clear, and efficient way to communicate permissions to users of your work. Our Matrix is intended for people who believe we should primarily trust each other. Our licenses are not intended for lawyers, contain no legal mumbo-jumbo, yet are flexible and compatible with any license. There is plenty of legally defined licenses out there to choose from, the SLM helps people know what the license means, no matter what type of license is used.

SLM Licenses are very simple. We use the matrix with green “public domain” options on top, and red “copyright” options on the bottom. Each level/color is assigned a number, and therefore each SLM License has a unique identification, and a unique web page link.
